RCT’s Pichia Expression Platform includes the Pichia Classic System as well as Pichia GlycoSwitch® System which enables human-like glycosylation in yeast. Pichia pastoris is well established for the rapid and cost-effective expression of recombinant proteins from discovery through commercialization.  Pichia has been used to successfully produce proteins across a broad spectrum of functional types including enzymes, antigens, engineered antibody fragments, and next gen protein scaffolds. Pichia Licensing Program

RCT acquired the original patents and related materials covering Pichia Expression strains and vectors from Philips Petroleum in 1993. Invitrogen, now Life Technologies retains a license to sell Pichia Expression kits and related materials. Over the years there have been numerous additions to the collection of available strains, vectors and supporting materials offered by Life Technologies.

The Pichia Classic Expression System includes all the strains and vectors offered by Life Technologies. The Pichia GlycoSwitch® System includes only the Pichia GlycoSwitch® strains and vectors which are dedicated to the expression and production of glycoproteins.

Research Corporation Technologies (RCT) has established a licensing program for easy access to either Pichia Classic or Pichia GlycoSwitch® expression systems. For both systems, Kits can be purchased and the systems evaluated for a period of one-year under a limited-use license.
